Sensor Alliance: A Seawork Networking Success Story

Seawork 2017 exhibitors Reygar and Gill Sensors & Controls have formed a strategic partnership where Gill’s extensive range of specialist sensors can be integrated into Reygar’s BareFLEET fleet monitoring system.

While electronic system and sensor integration does not happen overnight and the deal has only recently been announced, it’s early seeds were sown at Seawork 2017. Reygar won a European Commercial Marine Industry Award at Seawork 2017 for its BareFLEET solution and also used the event to network with Trevor Pearson of Gill Sensors who was also an entrant for the same award.

BareFLEET gathers comprehensive vessel data on engine health and performance, fuel economy, heave motion, vibration, structural loading and turbine transfer activity amongst other parameters. Concise daily reports present this information remotely to fleet operators and their customers in a simple, easy to understand format across their entire fleet. BareFLEET was launched at Seawork 2017 where it was enthusiastically received, winning a European Commercial Marine Innovation award.

Gill Sensors and Controls offer a range of specialist sensors including oil condition, ultrasonic fuel flow rate, fuel and black water tank level sensors. Integrating these sensors into BareFLEET provides the opportunity for condition monitoring of gearboxes, non-intrusive measurements of fuel efficiency and comprehensive monitoring of all bunker levels – all achieved remotely and reported automatically.

Chris Huxley-Reynard, Managing Director of Reygar said “BareFLEET is all about improving fuel efficiency and identifying machinery problems early. Integrating Gill Control’s sensors with our system enhances the preventative maintenance capabilities of BareFLEET and provides our customers with an accurate, non-intrusive option to meter fuel flow. We are delighted to be working together with Gill Sensors & Controls.”

Trevor Pearson, Business Development Manager at Gill Sensors said: “We are very happy to be working in partnership with Reygar and being part of their BareFLEET system. Incorporating our sensors with BareFLEET gives the end user access to an even greater range of measurement parameters whilst benefitting from Gill’s reputation for accuracy and reliability.”
