New Award category announced for the European Commercial Marine Awards (EMCA)

Seawork 2018 sees the introduction of a new award for Best Project of the Year added alongside the awards for Professionalism, Sustainability, and Lifetime Achievement.

Recognising the depth of excellence and achievement in commercial marine, the EMCA’s celebrate innovative companies and outstanding individuals that comprise this vibrant and productive industry sector.

The Best Project of the Year – for challenges in marine civils or vessel operations – is judged by a panel of recognised experts in the commercial marine industry.

The ECMA’s incorporate the Innovations Showcase that attracts entries from across Europe.

The showcase of entries for the ECM Innovation Awards provides visitors the opportunity to see the latest in products, services, projects and vessels introduced to the market by Seawork exhibitors in the past 12 months.

Knut Lysklett, Blue Eye Robotics, 2017 Spirit of Innovation overall winner for the Blue Eye Pioneer, an underwater drone, commented, “It was a big surprise to win this award, very unexpected, as a start-up company the award means so much more to us than possibly to a well-established business.  We entered the Blue Eye Pioneer into the showcase after seeing information on the Seawork website and are delighted that our product won!”

The Innovation Showcase is open for submissions from both Seawork exhibitors (free), and non-exhibitors (fee applies).

What makes Seawork Work? It’s always interesting to find out what makes Seawork work for the 600-odd exhibitors who attend Europe’s foremost event of its kind, held each year in Southampton.
